Carthusian Sazerac

The world needs more sazerac riffs. This version from the minds at Spice Kitchen & Bar employs a short pour of herbal liqueur and lemon bitters.

Ingredients:

  • barspoon Classic Gum Syrup
  • 2 ½ oz rye whiskey
  • ¼ oz Green Chartreuse
  • 2 dashes lemon bitters
  • barspoon absinthe (rinse)

    Instructions:

    • Rinse a chilled rocks glass with absinthe
    • Add remaining ingredients to a mixing glass with ice
    • Stir 20 seconds and strain into the rinsed glass
    • Express a lemon peel and garnish
