Absinthe Old Fashioned

 Doug Petry of Louisville’s Rye restaurant devised this absinthe-based old fashioned. It reads quite sweet but it rounds out nicely into a surprisingly delicious cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz Classic Gum Syrup
  • 1 ½ oz absinthe
  • ½ oz elderflower liqueur
  • 4 dashes Peychaud's bitters

    Instructions:

    • Add all ingredients except bitters to a mixing glass with ice
    • Stir 20 seconds and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice
    • dash bitters on top to layer
