Mint Rum Julep

Enjoying Mint Juleps shouldn't just be something that happens on Derby Day. This rum-based version employs Demerara Gum Syrup and a skosh of falernum to lend it a tropical bent. Perfect for a blistering summer day!

Ingredients:
  • ¼ oz Demerara Gum Syrup
  • 1½ oz Jamaican rum
  • ½ oz Lemon Hart 151
  • 1 barspoon Velvet Falernum
  • 1 dash orange bitters
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 8 mint leaves
Instructions:
  • Muddle mint leaves, syrup, and bitters in the bottom of the glass
  • Add remaining ingredients to the mixing glass with crushed ice
  • Stir 20 seconds and top with more crushed ice

  • julep tin

  • fresh mint
