Angostura Colada

A rum base seems like the hallmark of a good piña colada, but this riff from Zac Overman proves that a hefty dose of aromatic bitters is a fine substitute! This flavor profile is heavily spiced and bitter.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Toasted Coconut Syrup
  • 1 ½ oz aromatic bitters
  • ½ oz rum (preferably Smith & Cross)
  • 2 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz lime juice

Instructions:

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker
  • Fill with ice and shake for 10 seconds
  • Strain into a snifter filled with crushed ice

Glass:

  • snifter

Garnish:

  • nutmeg + lemon wheel + pineapple leaf + umbrella
