Rum with a vieux

A complex addition to the "brown, boozy, stirred" category, the Rum with a Vieux clearly takes notes from a Vieux Carre and a Sazerac while using a blend of rum and brandy as the base spirit. 

Ingredients:

  • ¼ oz Classic Gum Syrup
  • 1 oz aged agricole rhum
  • 1 oz cognac
  • ¼ oz Jamaican rum
  • 4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • 2 dashes aromatic bitters
  • 2 dashes absinthe

Instructions:

  • Add all ingredients to a mixing glass with ice
  • Stir 20 seconds and strain into a chilled coupe
