Basil Julep

Pick a high-character Irish Whiskey - something with rich, oily spice notes to pull down the basil's volatile peppery aroma. 

Ingredients:

• ¼ oz Classic Gum Syrup
• 2 oz Irish Whiskey
  
• fresh basil
  

Instructions:

• Muddle 2-3 basil leaves with gum syrup in a mixing glass
• Add Whiskey and ice and stir for 20 seconds
• Strain into a chilled rocks glass or julep tin
• Garnish with basil
