The Calimyrna variety is sweet and nutty with a pale-chartreuse color. The jammy Black Mission brings a deeper flavor and color to the table.
Wonderful addition to fall cocktails . . . very smooth with true fig taste. Can even be used in salad dressings . . . syrup, hint of lemon, vinegar, fresh figs and goat cheese.
Tastes like brown sugar and figs, I started out using it with bourbon and orange bitters, but am looking forward to expanding that even beyond cocktails (thinking it would be a great swap for pomegranate molasses in cooking).
Rich fig flavor from the moment it first hits the tongue through the finish. Ends with just the right amount of sweetness.
We use a variety of the Liber & Co. cocktail syrups and this one is at the top of our list. Pairs well with bourbon/whiskey. We absolutely LOVE the recipe ideas--keep them flowing!
As a long-time fig enthusiast, I had to have this syrup. I will be using it to flavor cooking in the future, but the first bottle went toward variations of drinks conveniently offered on the Liber website. For the Fig Manhattan, I prefer dry vermouth and garnish with a slice of fresh dark fig from the garden. I highly recommend this syrup to anyone who wants a genuine, rich fig flavor.
